What does “we choose love” mean to you?
“We choose love” means human solidarity and openness to understanding. In the tumultuous time that we are living in now, I think it is more important than ever for us to be open and recognize our personal connections to the racial and political divisiveness that is occurring across the nation. In the media, news channels, politicians, civilians are all divided and people in power are preying on people’s fears to elicit and trigger responses. In a time where free speech is being used as a cover for hate spread by our current administration, now is a time where it is more important than ever to choose love. This means fighting for each other no matter the differences in our skin color, language, culture, or any other aspect of individual identity.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more insure a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Natures’ God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We are not going to be able to operate our Spaceship Earth successfully nor for much longer unless we see it as a whole spaceship and our fate as common. It has to be everybody or nobody.
